Synod Listening Session
Wednesday November 10, 6:30 to 8:30pm at Christ the King
As you may know, Our Holy Father, Pope Francis has called for the 16th World Synod of Bishops to be held in October of 2023 in Rome. The journey will follow in the wake of the Church’s renewal proposed by the Second Vatican Council, and in many ways the Synod will be a response to the listening of the thoughts and comments of Parishioners in all the Catholic Churches. We have been called by Bishop Lucia to gather for a Synodal Listening Session held throughout the Diocese between now and the end of March.
Our Listening Session will be open to all parishioners of the Liverpool PCA (the Parishes of Pope John XXIII, Christ the King, and Epiphany). As you read in The Catholic Sun (October 7, 2021 edition), Bishop Lucia will be there for the sole purpose to simply listen to the people of God. We want you to attend and participate.
Our Listening Session will be Wednesday, November 10, 2021, from 6:30 to 8:30pm and will be held at Christ the King Church. We will discuss the Listening Sessions in all the Parishes and provide more information as we approach the date. This will be an extraordinary time to share your thoughtful comments with our Diocese and our Church. All appropriate comments are welcomed and would be a great time to ask about some of our most pressing issues (such as Priest shortages, dwindling attendance, and Church resources). We hope you will set your schedule to attend the Listening Session.
